Anti-Style Framework — Iteration:// CLEOPATRA
Named after the lost 1917 film starring Theda Bara
This is the Anti-Style Magazine and Blogging Framework in its purest form. I threw out the idea of pack-in theming and built one big, perfect, nice, delicious, juicy theme designed for the post‑print era. This is Noir Truth—a hand‑selected color palette that feels like a blank page you fill with your own content.

It's a notebook as code. You download the code, hit Ctrl‑F, search for everywhere that it says YOUR SITE NAME HERE or anti‑style, change them to whatever you like, update the scripts.js to set the  XML link to your own site, and you're good to go. Adding a post is super easy because everything is stored in a single XML file—no headache of HTML, no 300 files at year's end, no CMS lock‑in. It is literally that easy. The all-posts view has been completely reworked. The text just feels better. Reads better. You want to put out one issue a month? That's what it's designed for. You want to make a record of your paintings, your essays, your poems, your fights, your dreams? Change the labels and go. Blue Period, July Issue, Day 140 of the Collapse—whatever. Anti-Style is a base. It's a can of paint.

Here's the pitch: you've said, "I want a website," and then you go look around and it's Squarespace, it's Wix (Israeli, do Boycott), it's Substack, Medium, a hundred variations of sterile, HR-department-core UI. It costs $20 a month to look like every other portfolio site on the planet. But Anti-Style costs $20 one time. And it's yours. Forever. That's the difference. No server. No login. No backend. No ecosystem. Just four files. HTML. CSS. JS. And your post.xml.
Why pay 20 bucks a month for Squarespace when you can pay 20 bucks one time for Cleopatra and host for free on neocities.org? You don't have to pay a fucking dime for hosting. Pair it with a neocities.org account and you don't need an account anywhere else. No login, no server, no bullshit. It's built on what the entire internet is built on—HTML, CSS, and JS.

Getting Started

1. download the repo  
2. open index.html, scripts.js and posts.xml  
3. search and replace "anti‑style" and "YOUR SITE NAME HERE" with your title  
4. point the XML link to your own posts.xml  
5. add posts by pasting entries into posts.xml

I fixed the overwhelming majority of formatting issues and bugs, but it's still code. If you notice anything, please report it.

The default theme is so clean and so universal that you can drop in photography, scans of street art, blog posts, recipes, digital art or plain text and it just works. If the internet was a book, Anti‑Style would be your page in that book. You fill it. You own it. You distribute it. No dependencies, no fees, no bullshit.
